On Beyond Zebra

≡ About Krys

[I'm old. I'm grumpy. I want pie.]

Krystalle lives in Florida with her “full of win” other half and a small menagerie of animals who seem intent on leaving fur on every single piece of black clothing in the entire house. She desperately wants a Newfie, but there’s that whole “already enough animals in the house” coupled with the “small yard in Florida” thing. She is the proud owner of a 1979 Cadillac S&S Victoria named Squee, and a fairly decent collection of comic books. She is largely a coffee-powered being, her favorite being Green Mountain brand Rainforest Nut Crunch whole-bean coffee. Failing the presence of good coffee, she relies on Coke Zero.

Krystalle works as site co-lead at Massively, along with Michael Zenke. When she’s not being an editorial overlord, you can catch her writing there, or at WoW Insider, Big Download, occasionally at Joystiq, or here. She is available for freelance editorial and writing work, and likes to think of her tone as conversational.

The snippet of poetry at the top left of the page is actually an excerpt from On Beyond Zebra by Dr. Seuss. Life is more fun when it’s Seussian.

Currently reading:

  • Track of the White Wolf - Jennifer Roberson
  • A Darkness at Sethanon - Raymond E. Feist

Currently watching:

  • Good Eats - Perhaps the only thing I can be arsed to watch on a regular basis
  • Feasting on Asphalt - Hooray DVRs, or I’d never watch TV at all.
  • Catching Kingdom as I can find them. (More Stephen Fry on this side of the pond, plz.)

Currently listening to:

  • Primarily been going through the archives in my music collection, which is to say that I’ve been listening to everything from Louis Prima to Laibach to Led Zeppelin. (Also: lots of bands that start with other letters than “L” too!)
  • Still compiling the monster track listing of workout music.

Current favorite silly bit of language:

  • Squee!Because many events of the recent weeks have been squeeworthy, and it’s just fun to write/say.
  • om nom nom (also seen as ‘nyom nyom nyom’) - This is a cute approximation of the noise involved in eating/gnawing on someone or something.

Upcoming travel for work:

Feel free to leave a comment and say hello!
