Good side/Bad side
Good side: I love what I do for work.
Bad side: Having to work weekends means I’m generally late to or unable to attend family parties.
Good side: Being home alone means I get to blare my (”World/Bollywood”) Middle-Eastern music at crazy loud volume without pissing anyone off.
Bad side: It really makes me miss my old drumming group. Seems like every group I find now is based more in the African tribal rhythms. (Not a bad thing, but many I have played with tended to lose their spot and train-wreck if you start playing middle-eastern rhythms in counterpoint over their drumming.) Unless of course you’re at a Renaissance faire, in which case, it’s all Baladi all the time. doum-doum-tek-a-tek….
Good side: Being alone means nobody sees me take a quick stress break, dance for a song, and dream of being one-tenth as cool as Aishwarya Rai.
Bad side: Dancing around proves that while I may someday indeed be one-tenth as cool as Aishwarya Rai, I will never achieve one-tenth of her balance.
Good side: Dancing is still fun.
