New year, new direction

And I thank you for bringing me here
For showing me home
For singing these tears
Finally Ive found that I belong here

So I’ve decided to take a somewhat brave step this next year; I’m going full-time with writing. This isn’t to say that I’m going to stop pursuing my degree at all — quite the opposite. I’m going to scale back to one class per term so that I’m not where I’m currently at; buried in finals, dealing with RL and trying hard to keep my post counts up/everything done that needs to be.

The better half and I are discussing that thing that people our age tend to do once you’ve reached critical mass of Stuff You Need — settling down. Of course, knowing us, this will be a few years down the road, most likely. But the fact that it’s even being discussed says something, I suppose. (You can all point, laugh, and say “told you so” at me now.)

Beyond that, not much else to report. I love my job, despite the occasional frustrations. It is teaching me a lot, and I love to learn. I thank the heavens every day that I can do this for a living, and I hope that I can continue to for years to come. I’ve found where I belong across the board, the planets have aligned, and the ghosts are silent.

It’s good to be home.
