Quickie
Hooray, blurb post!
- Behind in a couple of classes due to being out of town. Luckily, this is not a big deal since we’re early in the term, and I can catch up as the concepts are fairly basic at this stage.
- Dragon*Con was amazing. There is a much larger post coming about it, but for now I’m still editing almost 400 photos. I’ll post a link when I get them uploaded to work.
- Have the most stunning case of Confluenza. I used to think the colds I got at SCA events were bad… This is a whole new level of yick. I’ve spent last the couple days in bed with a fever. /violin
- I learned two new phrases - “Be Drinkable” and “Your Choice is Fish” courtesy of a great new friend. This will also be in the upcoming D*C post, but don’t be surprised if you see them here before then. Right now, I am holding onto being drinkable with both hands. Well, that and a mug of chicken soup.
- I will be heading back to D*C in 2008. This is confirmed. It will most likely be on my own dime, but I think the value of getting WoW Insider’s name out and networking are well worth the investiture. Besides, pre-registration badges are $45 at the moment.
- Many columns to catch up on for work. Also, Elizabeth H. and I will be doing The WoW Insider Show this week, talking about D*C and the AGDC as well as some of the news this week. Be sure to check it out!
- I dread heading back to the gym after all this time off. No pain, no gain.
- Purple hair looks good on me, IMO.
- Room service is wonderful at 2am. It’s sad that it was actually about the same cost as a meal at a nearby restaurant would have been, due to jacked-up convention pricing.
- I now have active accounts in the following MMOs:
- World of Warcraft
- City of Heroes
- City of Villains
- EVE Online
Yes, I am a horrible addict. At least I can write the WoW account off.
- Many panel ideas for next year. For those interested in the planning for D*C, please join us at http://www.dragoncon-mmo.org/. The more, the merrier!
For now, off to the store with me. Need more creamer and chicken soup.
Oh, and I forgot to mention, but I cannot express how much I missed my Green Mountain coffee. Starbucks’ lattes aren’t bad, but their regular coffee makes me wonder if that’s what broiled car tires would taste like. If I have to put that much sugar and creamer into it just to make it vaguely palatable, it’s not coffee — it’s ass in a cup. Sorry, Starbucks.
